I hope you and your families are in good health and good spirits as we collectively fight COVID-19. I have already connected with some of you and will continue to do so. Please reach out to me as well if you want to talk about real estate, are on the lookout for a supply you can’t find, looking for a new show to stream or are just bored and want someone different to talk to. Working from home can be very isolating, trust me I get it. I can certainly provide some tricks and tips to help you schedule your day a bit.
Austin Homes Sales are Strong
The Austin real estate market is strong, and that includes all of Central Texas. Yes, we have changed some business practices, but new homes are still coming on the market daily, houses are still being shown (with some precautions) and sold. Closings still happening virtually, with limited attendance and even taking place outside.
COVID-19 Best Practices and Social Distancing are The New Normal
We have incorporated social distancing into our practices, as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. There are no open houses right now, but houses are still being shown (with some precautions in place). Interest rates are at a historic low right now which will bring opportunities to those like first time home buyers and move-up buyers. If you have ever sold a home with me, you know I make your home widely shown through social media and direct marketing. I do videos, virtual tours, and e-flyers to market your home. It is still very much a seller’s market here, but the low-interest rates have created a unique opportunity for buyers as well.
The Home Buying and Home Selling Process Starts at Home
Remember – whether you are a buyer or a seller, most of your initial work happens sitting in front of a computer screen. There is plenty you can do while sitting at home to get ready to buy or sell. For some of you, this is a great time to clean out that closet or garage you have been avoiding.
We are all in this together.
Stay healthy and feel free to reach out,
Your Realtor, Doreen
